Exporting

Turn your Markdown into Word, HTML, or PDF.

When a draft is ready to leave Reverie, for an editor, a beta reader, or a publisher, you can turn it into a finished file without losing your formatting.

Exporting the current document

Open the File menu, choose Export, then pick a format:

  • Word (.docx) for editors and anyone working in Microsoft Word or Google Docs
  • HTML for the web
  • PDF for a fixed, printable copy

Reverie opens a save dialog with the document’s name already filled in. Your headings, lists, blockquotes, and inline styles all carry across.

Exporting a whole manuscript

Choose File → Export Manuscript… to open the export dialog. Enter your name, the manuscript title, and your contact details (Reverie remembers them for next time), then pick a format.

Standard combines every document in the manuscript, in order, into a single Word, HTML, or PDF file. It’s the fastest way to turn a folder of chapters into one continuous file.

Shunn manuscript produces a Word file in the standard manuscript format that editors and agents expect: 12pt Times New Roman, double-spaced, one-inch margins, a title page with your contact details and word count, page headers, and scene breaks marked with a centred #. Each document begins a new page as a chapter.

Your originals are untouched

Exporting never changes your source files. They stay exactly what they were: plain Markdown that you own and can read anywhere. Export as often as you like, since it only ever produces a copy in another format.
