Press kit
Reverie is a distraction-free novel writing app for Mac and Windows. The page responds while you write: the cursor has warmth, and the page quietly warms when the words are flowing. It’s built for discovery writers, the people who find the story by writing it rather than outlining first. Instead of asking for a plan, Reverie reads the scene breaks and chapter headings already in the draft and turns them into a map of the manuscript. Drag a scene and the words move with it.
There is no AI and no subscription. Everything is plain files on the writer’s own disk, never locked away inside Reverie. When the book is done, it exports to Word, PDF, or a submission-ready manuscript in standard format. One purchase, yours forever.
The two paragraphs above are boilerplate. Quote them whole or cut them up.

Review licences
The free trial is the full app for 15 days, and most reviews can be written entirely inside it. It's the fastest way to get started.
If you're covering Reverie for an outlet, a channel, or a newsletter, request a full licence: choose Media or press and tell me where your coverage lives. Genuine press and creators always get a key, and it's yours to keep whether or not the piece happens.
Video walkthrough
Coming soon. A filmed walkthrough of Reverie, presented by its maker. It will live on this page. If you'd like it sent to you when it's ready, say so when you get in touch.
For creators
If you make videos or write for the writing community, you're welcome to record, screenshot, and monetise content featuring Reverie. No permission needed.
Reverie is built around feel, and feel only lands on screen, in motion. It films well. A few things that help:
- The app ships with four themes: The Page, Afterglow, Verdant, and Ember. They give you visual variety on camera.
- The b-roll footage below is cleared for use in your videos. The screenshots and logo files are cleared for thumbnails.
- The 15-day trial covers most filming. If your production runs longer, the review licence above is yours too.
Assets
Use them in articles, videos, and thumbnails. Please don't alter the icon or wordmark beyond resizing.
About
Reverie is made by Mark Allen of Academia Imperialis Ltd. I made games for 25 years. My studio won the Queen's Award for Innovation and was later bought by Hachette, the UK's second-biggest book publisher. Games are where I learned to make things feel right on screen: when a character jumps and it feels good, that's hundreds of tiny decisions about weight and timing and light. Nobody had pointed that kind of craft at a writing page, so I did.
For interviews, questions, or fact-checking, use the support form and choose Media or press. It reaches me directly.
